What I wore to work this past Friday...

It's never too cold for a crop top. Despite the dropping temperatures, a high waisted bottom makes the outfit more appropriate for both the weather and the work environment.

Don't be afraid to wear a single color from head to toe. Obviously an all white or all black look is a staple, but try mixing things up and wearing a brighter color. Step outside of your comfort zone and try something new :)

Happy 4th of July everyone! I hope each of you has the chance to spend the day with family and friends. Today's look is all about the red, white and blue and being festive! I've had this amazing short suit set for some time now, and knew it would be a perfect way to dress up for the holiday! The jacket makes the look come together, but if I want something a bit more casual I can just take the jacket off and show off the details of these really cute shorts!

Of course since it is a national holiday I had to have at least one kind of cheesy piece to this outfit, so I chose these adorable american flag socks. Although you can't see the entirety of it, the foot part has red and white stripes while you have the stars on the ankles. Cute and fun, but not too much. To complete the look I wore my classic Chuck Taylors in white that have piping of red and blue around the sole of the shoe.

In celebration of Independence Day, this week's #WantItWednesday is red, white and blue themed!

For these hot summer days, nothing beats a sheer blouse. The drapey tank pictured above from bebe is great for a nice BBQ or even an evening party to celebrate the 4th of July.

These pleated shorts from Zara are a look I have been absolutely craving! I love that you can't really tell if it's a pair of shorts of possibly even a pleated skirt. The mystery about it, along with it's clean lines is why I am lusting over it.

The white tank top from Zara is great because it mixes textures. A white tank can get pretty boring, but when worn in new cuts and textures it suddenly has a new life.

Chunky shoes are one of my favorite go to's and that is why I love these boots from Tiharose Boutiqe. The openings make it perfect for the warmer weather while you still get the edgy appeal from the ankle strap and platform.

Clearly I'm really loving Zara right now, and I have not been able to get this faux leather jacket in a baby blue off my mind. I know it is way too warm for it right now but how much do you love this color?! The pastel color makes this traditionally edgy look a lot more feminine. 

My last selection for #WantItWednesday is this cute blue and white flare dress from Jaci Boutique. It can be dressed down with flat sandals or boat shoes, and dressed up with heels making it great for a casual BBQ or a night out.

If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I just got this fabulous midi skirt in the mail earlier this week. As promised, I just had to show it off! I've loved midi skirts for the longest time and the bright red color of this one had me swooning at first sight. ASOS has tons of really cute and unique pieces fit for people of all body types. I was lucky enough to get a discount code for the website from a lovely brand ambassador at my alma mater, Rutgers. While I'm not sure if they still have codes, there are always discounts and fantastic sales to be found on the site! Take a look and maybe you can snag a fun new piece for your wardrobe!

Pop of Color: Red

I don't know about you, but I love a look with one brightly colored piece. Wearing subdued colors really makes the piece pop. Here I chose to wear a new Jonathan Simkhai top that I received from my boss, it's 100% silk so it's light which makes it perfect for spring. I love that the maroon sleeves are a bit more sheer to add some detail and make it a little sexier. I paired it with a light wash pair of ripped jeans, nude heels and a safari jacket.

Happy Friday readers!! And happy Valentine's Day!

Whether or not you actually have a date for today, holidays are always a great reason to dress up. Personally, I love being festive and today is just an excuse to wear a ton of red and pink. Of course, I usually tend to wear a lot of black and my outfit choice for today is built around this super chic skirt from bebe. I love pencil skirts, but I've seen them so many times that it can get a bit old. When I spotted this one I just KNEW I had to have it! The mesh panel adds some edge to this classic look. I love pieces like this because they silhouette will never go out of style but it still has a modern touch.

I paired the skirt with this red crop top from bebe to get in the spirit, and so as to not compete with the bright shirt I chose these nude pumps from BCBGeneration. I am in love with these shoes! I wore them for my birthday and they just feel so good on my feet! To complete the look and add some detail and sparkle, I added a diamond stretch bracelet and a vintage gold necklace. I love the way gold looks with red,  plus there is a cute gold zipper that runs down the back of the top and these accessories accent that.

Grunge Inspo: Plaid & Vintage Style Sweater

Hello hello and happy hump day!! Today I decided to switch things up a bit on the blog and I had my friend Christine style me for today's post!

Since it's been snowing on and off for the last week or so, and with temperatures in the mid to low teens, her initial theme was to find something cozy and warm to handle this horrendous weather. After rummaging through my wardrobe she turned into more of a grunge-y direction pairing my plaid button down with this cute little mustard yellow cardigan. I love it because it's reminiscent of Mr. Rogers with elbow pads and cute little gold buttons. To bring out the color from the top she grabbed these red jeans from PacSun and completed the grunge look with these vintage thrifted hiking boot heels so I could channel my inner Daria/Jane Lane.
