Want It Wednesday: National Lipstick Day

National Lipstick Day

Hello hello and happy Wednesday!

As yesterday was National Lipstick Day, I wanted to theme this week's #WantItWednesday around some beautifully unnatural lippies I've been dying for.

On the top left is a lipstick called Indigo Bridge from Portland Black Lipstick Co. I've mentioned this company before when I swatched my favorite fall lip colors here. These colors are highly pigmented and are completely natural. For a natural product that makes unnatural colors, the color payoff is amazing. Definitely a brand worth checking out. Some of their "unnatural" shades actually fit a more safer makeup style depending on the skin tone. While the website does not have actual swatches with the product, you can find tons of swatches from bloggers online.

The next color is from Lime Crime Makeup and is called Serpentina. This beautifully metallic green make me think of Medusa. This vegan and cruelty free brand is known for the amazing breadth of colors they provide as well as their long lasting velvetines, which happens to be my next lip color of choice.

While this last lip color is not a lipstick per-say, it comes in a tube like a gloss and dries just like a lipstick. This color is reminiscent of the Undead Red that I have from Portland Black Lipstick Co, but it has more brown undertones. The matte look of this lip is to die for, and the only reason I've held off on getting it is because even more color options will be available soon. A girl needs to weigh her options!

Party In The Back

Happy Monday! Hope you all had a great weekend!

Today's look focuses on this blouse from Tome. Made from cotton poplin, it has just the right amount of structure and comfort.

I paired it with these striped shorts to add some texture to the look. A pair of natural toned wedges with silver detailing add some shine without competing with any other part of the look while a silver clutch makes the more matte silver tone in the shoes pop.

AND this blouse has a little surprise, a high cut with a tie back. Business in the front and party in the back ;)

Top :: c/o Tome

Clutch :: Aldo similar style here and here

The high cut in the back allows you to show off the detail of your bottoms without being too high to show off your bra. Plus, a woman's back is definitely something that deserves more appreciation and should be flaunted more often.

Thank you so much for reading!

Dirndl Skirt

Top :: Loft similar here
Skirt :: c/o TOME
Earrings:: Shourouk
Bracelet :: J. Crew similar here
Heels :: Ann Marino

I have to admit that I have been eyeing this skirt for some time, and I mean more than physically staring at it from across my desk lol. What is there not to love about a full skirt that is cinched at the waist and can hold it's volume?! This beautiful skirt has come in an array of colors in the past and will be available for the 2015 resort season in more colorways. You would seriously be doing yourself a disservice not purchasing one while you have the chance.

Paired with a simple cropped tee this skirt can become a bit more casual, but the taffeta fabric is luxurious enough to be worn to a summer wedding. This color is fabulous because it doesn't wash out my pale skin, and the karate belt it comes with lets you add just the right amount of detail to complete the look. If you're looking for a flattering and comfortable full midi skirt that falls at tea length (below the knees) then this should definitely be first on your list.

Want It Wednesday: Random Goodies

Random Wants

Hello all and happy hump day!

I hope you're all making it through the work week okay!

This week I've thrown together a few pieces I haven't been able to get my mind off of this past week. This Michael Kors watch has been on my mind since I saw my cousin wearing it. So simple and yet chic, the size is perfect for any woman's wrist but still heavy enough to make a statement.

I love the french bulldog pouch because it makes me thing of that Michael Kors phone case. It definitely feels more sophisticated than it actually is which is always appreciated.

Also, don't forget you can get a discount at Tiharose Boutique with my promo code found on the righthand side of my blog page! Check it out for details and to snag your own pineapple shorts or open back top<3

Sunday Funday: Family BBQ

Top :: Loft similar style here
Pants :: Superdry similar style here
Sandals :: Call It Spring similar style here

This time of year is great because you can spend time socializing outdoors with friends and family. Yesterday we took a trip up to New York and had a BBQ at my cousins house. I threw this look together quickly before leaving: a baby blue striped tank top, fitted khaki paratrooper inspired pants, and snake print sandals with a pop of orange detailed on the side.

When it comes to gatherings, whether it be with family or friends, I always go through at least two outfits and this was the final option I came up with. I wanted something that I could be comfortable in as the day got cooler, but I could still stand to be in the sun. An airy and breathable top is great for this time of year when paired with some cuffed pants because you can easily go from the cool AC to a sunny deck BBQ. I took these photos once we got back home and did my dad the courtesy of showing off his blossoming garden lol hope you like, and thanks for reading!<3

Cut Outs & Crop Tops

Shoes :: NYLA from DSW

Whenever I tend to wear a particular garment frequently, I always try to pair it with items that haven't seen the light of day in awhile. This John and Yoko crop top has been coming out a bit more lately, but I've felt like I was running out of ways to style it. Of course, this required me to dig through my clothing to try to find something else to wear when I came across this skirt that I haven't worn in months. I knew the sleek fit with a mesh cut out would look really cute with the loose fit of the crop top, and suddenly I had an excuse to wear this shirt again. I wanted to add more edgy detail with these strappy wedge sandals and a contrasting rose gold clutch. I would personally wear this outfit for a casual day just because, but it is definitely great for a more casual night out.

Want It Wednesday: Fitness Finds

Fitlife

I've always been into working out and trying to be as active as I can, so of course I spend some time looking into cute and fun looks for working out. Except for the shoes, which I have come across through my various searches, I happened to stumble upon these unique brands that have a great product to offer.

The first fun option that I just found the other day are the fun tank tops seen above. Activate Apparel probably has some of THE most unique and funniest tank tops I have seen out there. While they do have some of your more expected phrases, they definitely provide unique alternatives. Personally, I love that they even have options from childhood shows, video games, and anime. I'm sure you will find the perfect new gym shirt for you here.

Love Fitness Apparel is another great option for athletic-wear. My favorite pieces that they make are their fitness pants which are essentially workout leggings. They are made in proper sports fabrics and come in unique prints, the Bermuda ones pictured above are my current obsession.

Last but not least is Valleau Apparel which makes some of the most unique and comfortable looking sports bras that I have ever seen. I've been eyeing them for ages and keep saying that I'm going to buy a pair but haven't gotten around to it yet. I know if I put it off much longer I'm going to regret it.

Of course there are the shoes pictured above, but these are just two pairs that I love the slim and sleek look of as well as the color and print combination. In all honesty, I have an entire folder full of athletic shoes that I would love to have but for the time being I like these two the most.

Do you have any favorite brands of athletic-wear that you're into? Let me know in the comments below!

Peacock's Plume

I am absolutely in love with color, and this romper in a shameless print of peacock feathers is a great way to rock some bold summer hues. Paired with a neon yellow cardigan, all eyes will be on you. These colors are as bright as the summer sun and as festive as Brazil during the world cup!

As amazing as the weather has been here, it was time that I dress a little colorful. The energy that the summer sun gives me is unreal and requires a more bold look in my opinion. To keep things balanced I paired the look with neutral wedges that have a silver strap detail. I love how playful this outfit is, it can be worn for a night out on the town or just a fun day out with the girls!

Want It Wednesday: Recent Beauty Buys

Happy Wednesday y'all! Today I'm switching things up a bit. Normally I post things I am lusting over, but today I'll be talking about a few things I've been dying to get my hands on and - guess what?! - I finally did!!

The other day I went into Sephora because I was out with a bare face and knew it would be the perfect time to swatch some things on my face. The first item that I grabbed is from the amazing Anastasia Beverly Hills collection, specifically her dipbrow pomade.

This stuff is seriously amazing! I got "Dark Brown" because my hair color is still dark from the last dye job I had. The consistency of this product is great, it goes on really smooth and lasts ALL day. I was a bit nervous at first because I'm used to working with pencils, but when put in lightly with an angled brush you really have nothing to worry about. Plus this stuff is great for oily skin and the humidity, what more could you ask for?!

The other item that I bought, and have been quite curious about, is the beauty blender.

In all honesty, I was a bit hesitant about purchasing this at first. While I had heard great things, I really wasn't sure what could make a funky shaped sponge so amazing. Let me tell you, I was wrong to second guess the greatness of this product for even a second! I used to use a stippling brush, and while it does wonders, I really don't think it compares to what the beautyblender has done for me. You use the sponge damp and use the same stippling effect as with a brush, but the payoff is amazing. I definitely need to invest in a better foundation, but in the meantime this makes a world of difference in how even and smooth my face makeup looks. Seriously, a must buy!

A Night Out: Wide Leg Pants

Heels :: Dune London

This is an outfit I quickly threw together the other day before heading to Jersey City with some friends. The weather had been beautiful, but at night it can get a bit chilly by the water so I knew I would need something that could be comfortable regardless of how hot or cold it might get. I also needed an outfit that could work for just spending time with my friends or hitting the town and this really worked perfectly. Honestly, it was such a great night catching up with an old friend. A few of us went out for tapas and walked around by the docks eating the best frozen yogurt that had the widest array of toppings available. I felt completely comfortable the entire night, except when I couldn't stop eating (the pants are fitted at the waist so of course they just wouldn't give). Everything was so good it was worth the pain of tight pants lol

Do you have any go to/quick and easy outfits for a night out with friends? Let me know in the comments below!
