Want It Wednesday: Vegas Getaway

As a part of this week's Want It Wednesday, I've been given the opportunity to style a few looks for a fun trip to the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.

I don't know about you, but so many people I know have been visiting Vegas and it is making me crave a getaway like crazy. If I could go right now, the Cosmopolitan would definitely be one of my top picks with so many different restaurants to offer as well as a great nightlife.

Below are two looks that I think would transition well throughout a day at the Cosmo, because in all honesty you would probably either find me poolside, eating, or partying haha

Details of all of the fun places I mention can be found here

Now go checkout #MyCosmoStyle and let me know what you would bring on this fun getaway ;P

Lounging Poolside

While in Vegas you NEED to have a fabulous look when you're poolside. I paired this cute mix n match bikini with a body chain, some cute shades, and a funky mesh cover-up for when I've had enough sun.

I chose two shoe options: the flat Birkenstocks for a lazy day poolside and the cork wedges for hanging out at the Marquee Day Club where DJs keep the party going as long as the sun is up.

Night out at the Cosmo

H M short ruffle dress, $41 / Jane Norman peplum jacket, $83 / Wedding wedge sandals / Bib necklace / Michael Kors horn watch / MAKE UP FOR EVER voluminous mascara / NARS Cosmetics lips makeup

During a dream vacation at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, you need to be prepared to keep the party going. This look could easily take you from a nice selection of tapas at Jaleo to a night of partying at the Marquee Night Club or a more tame night at The Chandelier, a tri-level bar/club that offers a different atmosphere on each floor.

I have to say that I am so in love with this H&M dress that I will probably be snagging it for myself shortly. With a deep v neckline at the back it definitely is a sophisticated sexy.

We Can Do It

Denim Shirt :: Gap similar here

Bandana :: Walmart similar here

Sorry for missing the last few Friday posts! If you follow my Instagram account, you'll know that I've been fighting a cold for the last few weeks that always kicks my butt by the weekend. I was finally given medication and will hopefully be on the way to a full recovery shortly. :)

In today's post I'm channeling my inner modern Rosie the Riveter. I can never say no to a denim button down and a basic updo with a bandana. This retro look is great for a crazy day of errands and can be dressed up for a more chic day out with cute jewelry like this statement necklace. You can never go wrong with a classic look.

Want It Wednesday: Dream Day Style Challenge

Recently I was asked to participate in a "Dream Day Style Challenge" by the lovely people from Lover.ly. As I have a bit of an obsession with all things wedding related, I took on the challenge. I was to choose between three wedding locations and select a gown from their website. Of the three locations, I went with the city glam look pictured above.

Below you will find my selection from their dresses as well as accessories and the makeup look that I find most suiting.

Dream Day Style Challenge

I chose the city glam option because I thought it fit my personal style best, it is the perfect balance of refined and sophisticated while still making you feel like you're escaping reality.

When it came to the dress, I've always known that I've wanted something more fitted. I love this Monique Lhuillier dress as it hugs in all of the right places. It has just the right amount of detail around the top with the appearance of petals and the sheer back. It tones down towards the base of the dress where it flares out creating the perfect balance.

With a dress that has such a high neckline, I find it best to wear your hair in an updo. As it is a wedding day, I chose a sparkly head piece to catch everyones eye. In contrast to all of the white and silver, I went with an extremely colorful stud. I think it's important to bring your personal style into your wedding day whether it be your shoes or you jewelry. For me, a crazy amount of color is true to who I am, but the stud maintains the refined look for this wedding. Paired with silver heels, a neutral face, and an earth-toned bouquet, the look is complete.

Peplum and Print

Peplum Top :: Club Monaco
Skirt :: Loft
Heels :: Vince Camuto

The weather has been so weird in the northeast, one day it feels like it's autumn and the next it's 80 degrees. Today's outfit post is inspired by the autumn feel that's been creeping into our area. A basic black peplum top paired with a structured cheetah print skirt. If you wanted to make the peplum more noticeable, I would suggest wearing a more fitted pencil skirt instead. I was going for something a bit more subtle that could be work appropriate.

Hope you like, and thanks for reading!!!

Want It Wednesday: Mesh

Mesh

#WantItWednesday is upon us again, check out all things mesh that I'm craving. Are you loving the 80s/90s revival? I know I sure am ;) Seriously, how hot is this trend?! Keep in mind, you can take on this trend minimally through accessories or fully embrace it head to toe. Would you rock the look?

Classic White Button Down

Pants :: Guess similar style here
Bag :: Aldo similar style here

I love the look of a classic white button down. So crisp and clean, it adds a level of sophistication to any look. It can be worn totally closed, as seen in my pictures, or with the top buttons undone which creates two entirely different looks. I think button downs are seen more as work attire, but they can do so much for your day to day wardrobe. My favorite look is to pair them with a pair of dark wash denim, but I went for something different in today's post and chose a khaki capri instead. Do you like the look of a white button down? Tell me how you'd style your own in the comments below!!

Sporty

Dress :: Forever XXI similar here
Plaid Button Down :: Superdry
Sneakers :: Converse

Unfortunately in the northeast, mornings have been pretty chilly the last few days. Taking the morning commute gets harder when you need to figure out how to wear layers that can get you through a cold morning, chilly office, and 80 degree weather in the afternoon if you happen to step outside.

While this dress may be a bit warm for the 80 degree afternoons, the colder weather has me thinking about the fall and this outfit is perfect for those first days. Maroon is always a great color for autumn, I'm pretty sure I have 2-3 lip colors in this family alone. A plaid shirt is great for cooler mornings, but adds a sporty look to the dress as the day gets warmer. Sneakers and a faux leather backpack make for the perfect finishing touches to this sporty look.

Breakation: The Perfect Little Getaway

This week I had the chance to finally take a bit of a break from work. My mother and I came down to AC, and this time to bond has been long overdue.

From reading and relaxing on the beach to gambling and seeing shows, I cannot wait to come back and do it all again.
