Geometric Blues

bebe top, H&M pants - similar here, Loft flats - similar here and here, necklace and bracelet both belonged to my grandfather

Hi all! How's your October faring? If you're anything like me you're anxiously awaiting and preparing for Halloween! Thankfully it's just a few days away, and so is a Halloween inspired post! In the meantime, here is an outfit I'm eager to show you!

Today's look is entirely based around the pants. I purchased this beauty from H&M, I'm in love with the geometric print and how bright that blue is! Absolutely perfect for fall as this color is everywhere this season. I paired it with a simple off-white blouse from bebe and black flats from the Loft. When it came to accessories I chose these beautiful handmade turquoise pieces. They belonged to my grandfather who used to love the color and even made some jewelry finding inspiration in Native American culture. I thought these pieces were so unique and that the colors paired well with the pants.

As always, thank you for reading!! <3

Lipstick Love: Colors For Fall

From top to bottom: OCC Lip Tar - Black Dahlia, Portland Black Lipstick Co. - Undead Red, Portland Black Lipstick Co. - Artificial Amethyst, MAC Cosmetics - Rebel, MAC Cosmetics - Firm Form

Hello all! As I've been feeling under the weather this week it's been difficult for me to keep up with my outfit posts, plus looking sickly doesn't really suit me. REGARDLESS, that will not stop me from posting and keeping you lovely readers entertained!

Today I decided to talk about one of my favorite topics, lipsticks. While I think you can wear any color you want all year round, there are definitely some colors suited for the fall season and here are a few of my favorites! One brand that I love is OCC for it's amazing collection of Lip Tars. This specific color is called Black Dahlia which they list as their blackest blackened red, and they do not fail to uphold the depth in color. Lip Tars are fabulous because they are long lasting, and a little dab will truthfully cover your lips in bold colors. The link that I've added is to all of their matte colors, but they now also provide clear, metallic, and stained gloss.

The next two colors are from Portland Black Lipstick Co. which I discovered in an article on Beatylish this time last year. The company was created with the intention of providing an affordable black lipstick made from all natural ingredients. They've expanded to include many more unnatural colors including the two pictured above, Undead Red and Artificial Amethyst. Undead Red is this clay-ish type of color that leans more towards a plum color while Artificial Amethyst is this beautiful deep purple with such a shine to it.

The last two colors are from MAC cosmetics. Rebel is a fuchsia plum, when worn on it's own you see more of the fuchsia color but when you wear it over a dark lipliner the plum really pops. My last selection is a color called Firm Form which is a gilded black. While black is a very strong color, this one is very sheer and the gold shimmer makes it much more fun and playful.

I hope you've enjoyed my selections, let me know your favorite fall lip colors in the comments below!!

Autumn Awakening: Striped Sweater & Leather Accents

pēlle moda leather jacket - similar here and here, Superdry crew sweater, Cotton On skirt, Calvin Klein tights, Call It Spring booties, bracelets from childhood, ring from friend, J. Crew necklace

For today's look I wanted to put together an outfit that I had worn to class around this time last year. It's a simple look that can be dressed up a bit more with heels, but is still casual enough for your day time activities. I paired this Superdry top with a simple grey cotton skirt, some black tights to keep me warm, and I added texture with my quilted leather jacket and faux leather booties. To add some shine to the look, I wore a set of gold bracelets that my grandmother gave to me as a child, a simple skull ring (you'll soon learn that I have an obsession with skull accessories), and my J. Crew necklace. As the weather changes it's important to stay warm, but that doesn't mean you can't look cute doing it!

Thank you so much for reading!!

In the Garden: Light Layers for Fall

American Rag peplum top - similar here, J. Crew shirt - similar here and here, bebe jeans, belt from a bebe dress, J. Crew bracelet - similar here, Kelly & Katie heels, old glasses

Today's post was shot in part of my fathers garden, hence my oh so creative name for this post!  With the weather changing and the trees beginning to shed their leaves, it's nice to find pops of such vibrant colors in nature.

Just as the seasons must change, so too must my wardrobe and this means finding ways to transition pieces. I've had this peplum top for some time and I love that it has faux leather detail, but after a few wears I realized that it wasn't quite the right size so I haven't pulled it out in awhile. I had been in need of a new top for work at the time and didn't pay too much attention in the fitting room, but thankfully there are ways to make things like this work. When it comes to peplum I don't usually like to put blazers over it because the contrasting cuts sometimes look awkward. With that being said, this top has plenty of room to throw something on underneath. I chose this top from J. Crew because it has a simple pattern to make the outfit more interesting, and it is short sleeved which is perfect for today's slightly warmer weather. I topped it off with a bright blue belt, some ripped jeans, simple black heels, and a sparkly bracelet from J. Crew. I kept the makeup simple and tossed my hair up in a tight bun so that it wouldn't compete with the collar.

Do you have any pieces that you can't live without year round? Let me know in the comments below, and have a fantastic weekend!!

Loft Jeweled Sweater Tee, Earl Jeans - similar here and here, Vans

Today's post is an outfit I wore about two weeks ago to a family event. I've had this Loft sweater for a little while now but never had the chance to wear it until recently. I love the detail it has to offer because it's like jewelry for your shirt! It has just enough shine where you really don't need many accessories. Normally I'd wear a watch with it and maybe some simple bracelets, but I really wanted to focus on the beauty of this piece so I kept accessories out of this shot. I chose to pair it with a blue denim jean so that the charcoal color in the top would stand out more. To complete the look I cuffed my jeans and threw on my favorite black on black Vans. What are your favorite standout pieces? Tell me all about them in the comments below!!

Tome dress, Calvin Klein tights- similar here, vintage lace shirt from my grandmother, Call it Spring heels Coach mini tanner

Today I decided that I wanted to bring things back to NYFW. This year I was invited as a guest to the TOME presentation. I had been interning for the designers for over 6 months, but my time with them came to an end upon my graduation in May. As a thank you for all of my help they very generously invited me to this seasons presentation. It was such an honor to go as a guest instead of working behind the scenes as I did in their previous presentation. Since it was Fashion Week I decided that I wanted to wear something interesting. I paired my TOME tank dress with black tights and little black booties. I thought it was a cute look, but that it needed something more. You have to wear black on black when you work behind the scenes at fashion shows, and since I didn't have that restriction I wanted something that popped. What I ended up doing was taking a vintage lace shirt that belonged to my grandmother and I wore it over the TOME dress. It was important to me that I wear something of hers because she was always very excited and supportive of my desire to be in the fashion industry. I like this look because the black dress emphasizes my shape giving a defined silhouette while the shirt adds a more refined and elegant feel. The final piece to the puzzle was my everyday bag, my lovely coach tanner.

Beneath my outfit photos are pictures of the TOME collection. The presentation was absolutely stunning with the lighting changing while music played over. The collection was inspired by Ana Mendieta, an artist greatly connected to the earth. A running theme in each of their collections is that they are inspired by a strong woman. The result this season was beyond amazing, and I feel privileged that they allowed me to share this moment with them.

h&m faux fur vest - similar here, basic white tank - similar here, bebe high waist leggings, bebe colorblock fringe necklace, R2 Mackenzie boot

For today's post I decided to show all of you lovely readers an outfit I recently wore to work. Here I'm wearing a beautiful new vest I purchased from H&M. I love that the vest is a mix of colors instead of a solid tone. I find it adds a more textured look to what is, in reality, a very simple outfit. Since the vest is so loud I paired it with a basic white tank and my oh so comfortable high waisted leggings from bebe. Personally, my thighs are a little thicker from working out so I have trouble squeezing into leggings that have too many seams, but these leggings fit PERFECTLY. They are beyond comfortable and I love the high waisted look because it's very figure flattering. I added to the look by wearing this funky chain link fringe necklace, I think it really plays off of the colors and texture going on in the vest. To complete my ensemble I threw on a pair of black wedge boots. This look is great for going out and can be dressed down a bit by wearing a flat shoe instead of a heel. Would you rock a look like this? Tell me about your favorite statement pieces in the comments below!

Thanks for reading! :)
