Today's look is an outfit that I wore to work last week (although I initially wore them with a darker cuffed short). The weather recently has been all over the place hitting crazy warm temperatures while experiencing on and off rain. In order to stay cool but still feel covered enough incase I got caught in the rain, I paired my jean shorts with these black tights. To make the look a little more work appropriate I paired it with a loose fitting blouse that I tucked into the shorts and put a structured short blazer over it. To add an edgy appeal, and to also keep my feet dry from the rain, I finished the look off with my favorite docs.

The 90's are one of my favorite decades, largely because that's when I grew up! Today's look is definitely reminiscent of Clueless' Cher Horowitz and Hole's Courtney Love, a few of my favorite style icons from that era. The look, although popular at this time, also takes from the 1960's. I love how styles can repeat themselves like this, where 30 years later a style can return with minimal changes.

This look is definitely classy and sophisticated. It has structure and refinement in the collared blouse and fitted dress. To make the look feel more 90s I added a "tattoo" choker to the look, a popular accessory of all girls growing up in this decade ;) Black tights keep the look put together and the cut-out booties add some edge. Overall it's a fun look for a business casual day at work.

Autumn Awakening: Striped Sweater & Leather Accents

For today's look I wanted to put together an outfit that I had worn to class around this time last year. It's a simple look that can be dressed up a bit more with heels, but is still casual enough for your day time activities. I paired this Superdry top with a simple grey cotton skirt, some black tights to keep me warm, and I added texture with my quilted leather jacket and faux leather booties. To add some shine to the look, I wore a set of gold bracelets that my grandmother gave to me as a child, a simple skull ring (you'll soon learn that I have an obsession with skull accessories), and my J. Crew necklace. As the weather changes it's important to stay warm, but that doesn't mean you can't look cute doing it!
