Party In The Back

Happy Monday! Hope you all had a great weekend!

Today's look focuses on this blouse from Tome. Made from cotton poplin, it has just the right amount of structure and comfort.

I paired it with these striped shorts to add some texture to the look. A pair of natural toned wedges with silver detailing add some shine without competing with any other part of the look while a silver clutch makes the more matte silver tone in the shoes pop.

AND this blouse has a little surprise, a high cut with a tie back. Business in the front and party in the back ;)

Top :: c/o Tome
Shorts :: Loft similar style here
Clutch :: Aldo similar style here and here

The high cut in the back allows you to show off the detail of your bottoms without being too high to show off your bra. Plus, a woman's back is definitely something that deserves more appreciation and should be flaunted more often.

Structured Grunge

Blazer:: H&M
Top:: bebe similar here
Shorts:: similar style here
Boots:: Doc Martens

Today's look is an outfit that I wore to work last week (although I initially wore them with a darker cuffed short). The weather recently has been all over the place hitting crazy warm temperatures while experiencing on and off rain. In order to stay cool but still feel covered enough incase I got caught in the rain, I paired my jean shorts with these black tights. To make the look a little more work appropriate I paired it with a loose fitting blouse that I tucked into the shorts and put a structured short blazer over it. To add an edgy appeal, and to also keep my feet dry from the rain, I finished the look off with my favorite docs.

How do you dress to deal with crazy weather? Let me know in the comments below.

Clueless

 Blouse :: H&M similar here
Cropped Sweater :: bebe similar here
Shorts :: Forever XXI similar here

If you haven't been able to tell, I'm kind of stuck in a 90s groove these days. Today's look is inspired by Cher Horowitz and her super cute style in the Clueless movie. Mixing different textured pieces can take items that you once felt you wore to death and breathe new life into them. One of my favorite things about fashion is finding new ways to wear old pieces, I was tired of always wearing this cropped sweater with high waisted bottoms but with looks like this I can get a little more creative.

Do you have any interesting ways you like to dress old looks? Let me know in the comments below, and as always thanks for reading!

Printed Floral Vest

vintage vest, bebe blouse - similar style here, H&M shorts - similar style here and here, We Who See heels from Urban Outfitters - similar here and here, vintage hat

Do you not love this vest? I've personally always had an attraction towards bright colors and crazy prints but this is just amazing! I've worn it just a few times before and liked it's unique look, but taking a full look at it on camera really makes me fall in love with it all over again. It previously belonged to my grandmother but I'm happy to make it a part of my own collection.

Since it is finally April and we've had a few straight days of warm weather here on the east coast, I was inspired to pull out some late spring attire. With such a bright and colorful vest I wanted a simple yet bright shirt to pair with it and I thought this pink one worked perfectly. Simple black dress shorts prevent this look from getting too crazy. I paired the outfit with grey heels to mix things up a bit and I like the detail that the hat adds, otherwise it just felt like the look was missing something. Overall I think it's a really fun look to try out whether you've got a casual day planned or are considering going to a festival.
