I love the look of a classic white button down. So crisp and clean, it adds a level of sophistication to any look. It can be worn totally closed, as seen in my pictures, or with the top buttons undone which creates two entirely different looks. I think button downs are seen more as work attire, but they can do so much for your day to day wardrobe. My favorite look is to pair them with a pair of dark wash denim, but I went for something different in today's post and chose a khaki capri instead. Do you like the look of a white button down? Hello hello and happy hump day!! Today I decided to switch things up a bit on the blog and I had my friend Christine style me for today's post!

Since it's been snowing on and off for the last week or so, and with temperatures in the mid to low teens, her initial theme was to find something cozy and warm to handle this horrendous weather. After rummaging through my wardrobe she turned into more of a grunge-y direction pairing my plaid button down with this cute little mustard yellow cardigan. I love it because it's reminiscent of Mr. Rogers with elbow pads and cute little gold buttons. To bring out the color from the top she grabbed these red jeans from PacSun and completed the grunge look with these vintage thrifted hiking boot heels so I could channel my inner Daria/Jane Lane.

It was definitely fun playing dress up with her! She chose the entire look from the clothing to the minimalistic makeup. What do you think of the look? How would you dress someone if given the chance? Let me know in the comments below!

Muted Tones & Metallic Accents

Hello and happy Monday!! Hope you enjoyed your weekend!!

Have you noticed anything different?!

Surprise! I took the time to sit down and straighten my hair! I haven't touched my straightener in ages and decided to do something different before I get my haircut this weekend. It's always so time consuming with how tight my curls are but it's nice to switch things up form time to time.

Today I'm bringing to you a casual look that I dressed up with heeled booties, but you can pair it with flats to make it a bit more dressed down. I haven't worn this top in ages and since winter is finally upon us I thought it would be a great time to break it out. I am in love with button downs, and this one has a double lace up back so you can make it fit as tight or as loose as you want! Plus I am in love with this shade of green! 

I don't know about you, but sometimes I want to take the time to dress up without getting too fancy and I find a look like this does the job. The accessories really take this look to another level, the metallic details in my watch, cuff, and clutch add some shine to a more basic look. It's always nice to have a little sparkle :)
